And we’ll barely mention gardening
The excellent No Agenda, which runs arts-based events for people to attend on their own, has invited one half of us – the Phil half – to give a talk about making comedy for television. Based on nearly three decades’ experience as a maker and commissioner of shows including Catastrophe, Peep Show, Brass Eye, Big Train, and Armstrong & Miller, he’ll be exploring what makes comedy work on screen, and what makes it slip on a banana and fall flat on its arse.
Meanwhile the Isabel half will be pressing buttons on a laptop and hoping that all the clips play in OK.
We’ll be selling copies of our book at the end of the evening, when there’ll also be a chance to have a chat about scripted comedy, growing food, and why Fear The Walking Dead has totally jumped the shark.
The evening kicks off at 6.30pm, and the talks last an hour. Tickets are £10 from No Agenda — come on your own, with a friend or a partner, we’d love to meet you!
